This morning, as I sat in my front of my laptop planning my day, I caught a glimpse of my booboo waving “hello” to the trees outside (its her sweet morning ritual). I realized that a baby’s days are filled with moments of Hammock Enlightenment. That’s the title of Eoin Finn’s TEDx talk. He encourages you to relax in a hammock regularly. Every mother needs to watch it. ;).  The talk was full of “aha!” moments that you can apply to your life to make it… well, less robotic. Have you noticed these days even the internet needs verification to “prove that you’re human”?

“I’d Catch a Grenade For Ya”

One phrase from Finn’s presentation that I’d like to shout out from the rooftops is: “I would take a bullet for my kid”. And ain’t nobody gonna stop me! I know you would do the same for yours. In fact I think you’d agree that there is nothing like a mother’s love for her child.

That got me thinking…what if I loved everyone with the same love I have  for Tiana…what if every Mama did that? There would be a whole lot more love floating around. Sounds dreamy and unrealistic but why not?

It Is Possible!

I realize this is not an easy task and not something we are conditioned to do, especially in North America (vs. Europe and parts of the East where hugs and kisses are more common between strangers than us,westerners, making eye contact in the elevator). But wait, there’s hope!  I know of someone who does that, every day with every person she meets. My Mama. Her love is present even in the way she runs her business (and like Finn pointed out, business really needs to start getting personal). I’m happy to know that my mother’s love is not only experienced by a select three.

Shout Outs (once again, from the rooftops)

Mamas are blessed with this experience of loving another person with every atom of their being. It’s in our hearts for us to show the rest of the world what my-chest-is-going-to-explode-with-love feels like.  So a big hug to Eoin Finn for getting my wheels turning, and of course…

Mama somehow looking gorgeous right after giving birth!

To Mama, for showing me how its done. And I guess I should probably credit Bruno Mars for the sub-heading ;).

I’d love to know what you think. Would you be willing to love everyone the way you love your kids? Do you know of anyone who loves with no boundaries?

Aww Nat I looove this! I totally agree with you. Although it’s easier said than done, it’s nice to know that there is at least one person out there brave enough to point it out 😉 I’m gonna start doing this now and begin spreading the looooove!!!! xoxo
