After one week and over 45 entries, the “Wee Lil’ Canuck” tutu contest has come to a close. And the winner is…
So this past Saturday, May 28th was the Once Upon a Belly tradeshow at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. Beautiful day. Beautiful venue. Beautiful bellies. And of course, BEAUTIFUL BABIES!
These days if you’re not sporting the Canucks colours, you’re not allowed on the bandwagon. And who doesn’t wanna be on the bandwagon? The energy is off the chain!
Now little girls, from newborn to eight years old, can show their team spirit in style with the limited edition, handcrafted “Wee Lil’ Canuck” tutu. And we’re giving you a chance to win it!
This is how you can enter the draw:
A couple of months ago I blogged about Tutu Mama joining the eco-conscious revolution. Well, I’m giddy with excitement over here cuz (cue trumpets) Tutu Mama has partnered with TLC, The Land Conservancy of BC!
This morning, as I sat in my front of my laptop planning my day, I caught a glimpse of my booboo waving “hello” to the trees outside (its her sweet morning ritual). I realized that a baby’s days are filled with moments of Hammock Enlightenment.

Did you hear that? “Having a child actually makes me wanna dream a little bit more”.
Hellz ya Mama! She opened up my doors! And my eyes, for that matter. After watching this uh-mazing video, I was so inspired, I started spitting rhymes…does that ever happen to you? Happens to me on a regular. Keep reading…
While chatting about how adorable this baby is, my brother pointed out that Baby Emerson’s reaction is a great metaphor for risk-taking. He’s right. This video totally reminds me of how I feel when I’m taking myself out of my comfort zone!
Valentine’s Day was around the corner and cupids were in full attack mode. Everywhere I turned I saw hearts, flowers, and lipstick kissy marks. It was time for another Tutu Mama tutu! I knew my design was going to be:

I saw this bumper sticker whiz by me while waiting at a red light…and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I love trees. I was part of the environmental club in highschool, but more for the social aspect of running around in the forest with friends, than saving the earth. I take them for granted. I am so thankful that Tiana will not be asking me that question…but what about my grandkids? I drove through my old neighbourhood in West Vancouver yesterday and realized it looks like Michael Jordan staight out of the barber shop. WHERE DID ALL THE TREES GO!? If that can happen in a few years…ok lets not focus on that. Time to do something about it. Its my motherhood conscience kicking in again.
And this here is my blog. Welcome. I will be using this cyberspace to post under three categories:
- Inspirations: all things/people/events..etc that make me want to be a better mother, entrepreneur, designer.
-
Aspirations: they say, that once you tell others about your goals, you become accountable, and the goals get accomplished. So allow me to share with you my dreams and aims in life, love and handmade tutus.
-
Perspirations: ahh doesn’t it feel good to sweat. I’ll be posting about all the trials and tribulations, smiles and elations that go along with the process of being a Mama, determined to do everything. With love.
Welcome!
