Resurrecting Your New Year’s Resolutions
So, how are those New Year’s resolutions coming along? It is February 1st. Which means 2012 is old news now. The excitement of a new year has faded. For most, February 1st means 2012 resolutions are just a memory…that we try really hard to forget.
If you’re not even close to being on track with this year’s goals, it’s not too late. That was only 31 days ago. There is plenty of hope. Having said that, those are 31 days you can’t have back.
Tick tock.
But don’t beat yourself up. Instead, take a look at possible reasons why you haven’t made any headway. Is it time for a new approach? Or maybe your priorities have shifted. Or perhaps, lets be honest, you just need a kick in the butt.
If you need to get re-energized, try this exercise:
Take yourself back to the last few days in 2011…You were the eager beaver with lofty goals and ambitions to take over the world in 365 days. You were convinced that 2012 was going to be your year. You chose your theme words for the year: “adventure”, “peace”, “wealth”. Feel it. Smell it. Taste it.
Are you there yet?
Now breathe that fire into those resolutions. (That’s the Year of the Dragon talking.) Do what you have to do. Just don’t quit.
How do you stay on track with your resolutions?
