IT’S NATIONAL KALE DAY…in the U.S. But I’m declaring it WORLD Kale Day so that everybody can get in on this kale fiesta! To celebrate, Tiana and I made a video for you where we share our favourite green smoothie recipe.

Kale has superpowers because…

It’s high in iron,
It’s high in Vitamins K, A, & C
It’s high in calcium
It can help lower cholesterol
It’s anti-inflammatory
It’s filled with antioxidants
It keeps your liver healthy
It’s high in fiber

This is why I make kale smoothies a few times a week. Tiana is on Team Kale as well. True story. Watch the video to see just how excited she gets about making her kale smoothies.

Ingredients

4 leaves of kale
1 celery stalk
1 small bunch of parsley
1.5 cups of almond milk
1 T of natural nut butter
1 t of organic, extra-virgin coconut oil
1 banana, frozen
1 T of chia/flax seeds

Directions

Slice and store one banana overnight in the freezer. In a high-speed blender, blend liquid and leafy greens/herbs first (not necessary if you’re all fancy shmancy and own a Vitamix). Add in the rest of the ingredients. Blend and drink up!
Store any leftovers in a mason jar and drink within 24 hours.

I’ve tested this recipe on some serious green-smoothie doubters. Not one picky kid nor grown-up has been able to resist seconds.
