Show me a woman who does not become obsessed with taking photographs the day her baby is born.

In the last couple of years, thanks to Instagram, photography is now even more appealing for moms. The app makes almost any photo look good through its filters. Plus, it’s a great way to provide a peek into your life as it unfolds and as the little one grows.

At the time when I started using Instagram, I was already hooked on snapping pictures of my little girl (Android users seem to get the goods a tad later…).

What was unexpected, was when Instagram opened my eyes to the rest of my world as being a perfect photo op. Now I see beautiful messages on manholes and on the walls of public restrooms.

Weekend Plans: You, Me, and Instagram

Inspired by Instagram’s Weekend Hashtag project, I will be hosting a new blog series, starting tomorrow, which promises creative challenge and cultivates community.

The series is called, “Through Mamas Eyes” (TME).

Every Friday morning on my blog, I’ll present a TME theme as a #hashtag. Your job will be to take a photo that represents your interpretation of that theme and how it shows up in your weekend. On the following Monday, I will showcase a few of my favourite images.

The goal is to help you notice the beauty in your life and to connect inspired mamas through images.

Be sure to swing by the blog tomorrow, Friday, July 27th, to find out what the first hashtag will be for the weekend (and for more details on how to participate).
